I went camping this past weekend with Katie and a bunch of her friends that she's grown up with. It was fantastic! We camped out in Illini State Park and it was gorgeous.
The cicadas were loud as all get out, and would dive bomb you if you got too close. But if you flicked them, they'd scream as the flew away. Hehehe.
We did alot of hiking out in the Starved Rock area, and it was pretty sweet. We ignored every "restricted area" sign, every "no tresspassing" and all the caution tape and were able to get to some really cool places. Large canyons dug out by streams, waterfalls, lush forests. Really quite spectacular.
We also played lots of bags, frisbee, grilled all sorts of meat and other food. Just an all around great time.
The conquistadors are now 1-5 after last night. Not a very good record, but it's fun, and we play fairly well. I'm pretty sure we lost because we weren't punished rewarded with conquistadors last week.
Moving into the new places on Friday (I hope... maybe Saturday) and I couldn't be more excited. Every one is welcome to come down this weekend for some good ol fashion chilling.

I woke up this morning calling my cat a dick head. He was nibbling on my fingers and it was kind of a subconscious, fresh out of sleep reaction. But that's his way of saying good morning, so it seems.
I know I know, I haven't updated in ages. You've been salivating for a look into my life. Well, gimme a sec, I gotta go check when the last time I wrote was, then update from there...
...looks like a month ago to the day that I last wrote. Although, that was about my various scents, so it doesn't really count. So in actuality, we're going on about a month and a half of no updates. My bad.
We'll hit the big news. I think you all know I'm going to grad school. My first term is almost over, and I've been really enjoying it. Granted I'm taking prereq classes right now, but they're still intellectually stimulating, and for the most part, actually interesting. I mean, I've actually been liking my C++ class, imagine that. It's funny that, despite I make a living coding in C++, I couldn't even test out of the entry level class.... yea, funny is the word for that.
I'll be taking classes over the summer so I can be all on track come fall to start the real deal master's classes. I've got some graphics class that meets Tuesday and Thursday nights over the summer, but only the last 5 weeks of the summer term. I'm also taking an online C++ data structures course through Oakton Community College since DePaul isn't offering it this summer. That one starts Monday... I haven't even finished my spring classes yet, so these next few weeks could be pretty busy.
And this busyness (not business) is only compounded by the fact that (drum roll sssshhhhhhhhhhak) I'm moving to Chicago. Steve and I got a sweet apartment on the corner of Racine and Taylor, right by UIC in what I think is either little italy or the medical district...no one is quite sure. We move in June 15th, and I'm insanely excited. Excited to get the hell out of Waukegan, have a room mate again, and live in Chicago. It's gonna be good.
I suppose in the last month, not much else has really happened. Katie is back from school (so are all the other college people) which is awesome. She's picked up the new hobby of rock climbing, of which I have accompanied her on once, and hopefully many more times. Davenport is playing and writing and recording, which is good to have that musical outlet back. And the conquistador's summer sand volleyball league starts this Sunday, which I'm super dee duperly excited for.
I suppose that sums it up. Motorola is still here, though with me moving to Chicago and new summer courses, we'll see when I'm actually going to go to Libertyville. If I'm lucky, I can just work from home most of the time. I think that would be for the best.

I watched An Inconvenient Truth the other night with my parents. It really is quite a good documentary. Makes me kinda wish I had voted for Gore (don't worry, I didn't vote for Bush... I just didn't vote).
I went out the next day and bought 6 of those energy efficient bulbs (that's all the lights I have in my apartment) and replaced them all. That should save me over $100 a year in electric bills. Next step is to start sorting out my recycling and actually bringing it into the recycling center in Waukegan. I found out where that is, so we'll see how this goes.
I figure, every little bit helps, and if I'm not part of the solution, I'm part of the problem.
I also learned that cows are killing the planet. They eat grass (grass, once eaten, cannot absorb CO2), and then they fart and burp methane, which is apparently bad for the ozone.
Jerk ass cows.

Been a bit since posting. I'll sum it up quick.
Two weekends past, the band went to ISU to play Matt's house. It was pretty sweet. Two story beer bong made from garden hose. Kegs. Grilling. Really really bad movie. Rocked out hard in his basement. Drunk jocks loved us.
This past week has been a haze. I've been sick in one form or another since Monday. Sore throat, fevery chills, cough, sinus stuff. It's still not completely gone. Here's hoping!
Thursday was my first graduate class. It went well. three hour fifteen minute classes sure are long. But I think I'm going to enjoy my programming class. I have my first design class tomorrow, and I'm really looking forward to that. The whole class is about 2D design in Adobe Illustrator. Pretty cool, huh?
Last weekend I spent all Saturday gaming. Literally. From about 8:15am till 10:30pm with small breaks for food, bathroom, some jumping jacks, and to dustbust the bathroom.
Sunday, I went to my parent's and we went to see Blades Of Glory. Hi-Lar-ious. Then we ate at Fridays. Standard.
Now we're here. Monday. Really wish I could just get over this cold. I haven't had a drink in a week, which maybe is why I can't seem to get better. We'll. see.
