My god i'm important!

So it has come to our attention that the project Dave and I are work on is a very important one. Our boss's boss (who works and lives in france and is infact french) keeps emailing our boss asking when this audio server will be ready. Well let's just say Dave and I haven't exactly been the most productive people. But it's not our fault, we have things to do like updating live journals... but really, there have been circumstances that prevent us from moving forward on this project, but now it seems that the heat is on. (you know the song).

so time to deal with that. I'll be in rock island this weekend, maybe even on monday, we'll see.

How am i not myself?

This weekend was kickasstacular. Let me recap for you... in some detail.

Friday afternoon, Dave and I decided working sucked and we didn't want to do it anymore. So around 2, we left work and headed for Waukegan. We grabbed some beer, chips, and energy drinks (and an energy beer...and lemme tell ya, gah, geeeeross!) and met up with our buddy karl at his boat. From there, we set sail on the open sea that is Lake Michagan. We let loose the gib, unbattoned the hatches, arg ye mateyed, and had a great afternoon in the sun sailing around (yes, litterally sailing, no motor, just sails, we're cool like that).

The plan was to then catch the train to downtown and go check out Blues Fest and also Quarters Only and then hang with the band for a while. But unfortunately, we are uncappable of catching a train. We missed it. We watched it leave. And we gave up. But it's ok, cos we went back to Karls and karl and I played beer checkers which was sweet, and then i inhaled a bubble and it hurt my lungs for about an hour.

Skip to saturday. Dave and I had a nice little outting to Sam Ash where I found a beauteous new guitar. It's a Takamine acoustic/electric with none of that glossy finish, just al natural and beautiful oak sides and back. Really, she's a looker, and sounds great too. Then we ate at Jimmy John's...hellz yes.

We went back to my house to watch the episode of family guy I had TiVo-ed last sunday, but i guess i don't understand that thing quite yet cos it wasn't there. which was sad, but we ended up just chillin for a while. Then we went to Dave's for, oh i dunno, an hour and it was boring, but here's where shit gets cool!

Steph's bro was playing out at the Caupagh (or something) at the Algonquin Commons, so Dave and I went out there to meet Steph, Courtney, and Jackie. Zach's band was freakin awesome. The lead guitarist was one of the best i've ever heard and they had killer harmonies (though I could have out drummed the drummer in a second...) And what was really cool is that Zach was still playing with some guys from highschool (jared and paul) which gave me hope for the future of Davenport.

From there, we trecked across a long parkinglot (which was no problem for jackie, becuase here 9 inch heals had running shoe treads on the bottome...yea i dunno either) to the Red Star. man, that is one swanky bar. Dave and i (and everyone for that matter) got martinis and sat out on the back porch and just chilled. it was sweet. oh, and dave got a pink girly martini, my martini was like straight vodka (and no, not a tom colins martini, those taste like christmas)

all this time, people were calling us to hang out (cos we're so cool) so we just directed them to dave's house so when we finalaly got back, his house was full of friends. we played some beer pong (dave and i went 2-0) and chilled on the deck just talking(and having to run around the house in my boxers once...)

Sunday I went to yoga class with my fam. it was kinda cool, felt good to stretch evertyhing out and relax, but i don't know if i'll go back. it's not that i don't like it, it's just that i have a previous commitment on sunday mornings...to 5 other people and a Wyvern named Rygor.

played video games for the rest of the day, literally, i played for about 9 hours and it was sweet.

but now, back at work for the week. don't think anything real fun is planned. Jeff bought GT4 so he'll be predisposed for the week...hopefully we can get him out of his house. and if steph has anything to do with it, i'll prolly end up at the Tracks (our own townie bar, but it's ok cos here i am a townie)once or twice before friday hits.

the weekend

so here's the deal for this weekend. today after work, dave and i are meeting karl and jeff in waukeegan to go sailing. then off to blues fest in chicago. then back to the boat to sleep (if we don't end up too drunk to find a train back). saturday, get a massage with my dad cos i've had this gift certificate since christmas and dammit i deserve one! then beer pong saturday night on our kick ass table. sunday will be yoga class with the fam in the morning, and videogames for the rest of the day.

i like my weekend.

oh, and saturday, maybe some Oingo Boingo cover band action...i hope.

oingo boingo

anyone who has been keeping in touch with Dane has undoubtedly heard his obssesion with starting an Oingo Boingo cover band. and that is a wicked sweet idea. i'm proud to be the keyboardist for such an endeavour.

work is long and boring as usual. our boss had a kid (maybe him...maybe his wife) so he hasn't been around much, nor will he be around much for the next two weeks. which means dave and i must be self sufficient (see: play foosball).

grilled out in the hollows last night. a bit buggy, but some damn good burgers.

my life doesn't contain much else these days besides work, and video games.

spent last weekend in RI. man do we have a sweet house. you'll all have to come visit next year, or just stop on by if you live there.

word on the street is the Coheed show this july is sold out. but i'm not missing it dammit!!! which means dave and i will be shellin out a bit of extra money to procure eBay tickets. but it's necessary as Coheed blow my mind.

I'm a workin man

well, back at work at motorola. back to not doing much and making a butt load of money. I say a don't do much, but don't judge me, you don't know how to make a C# client/server app.

our manager scott is taking dave and me out to lunch today. hooray free pizza. so i'm gonna go eat that.
