it's freakin beautiful out here right now. the Augie campus really shines in the spring. the slough path is a tunnel of green with bursts of purple, the lower quad is green and (mostly) lush, and the picnic tables infront of the CC are surrounded with the amazingly intense scent of lilac. i must say, i find it quite enjoyable.
that being said, it needs to fucking warm up again!
that ham was pretty good. dawn made potatoes, real ones, which was cool, and we had stuffing and veggies. it was full blown meal style. been a while since we've done that.
i went home this past weekend to visit the fam and wish my mom a happy b-day. she's only 27, can you believe that?!?
i forgot the book i've been reading there, which is tragic, cos i was really into it (all about dragon and elves...right up my ally) but i think it got in the mail today, so phew!
last night amanda, yonk, doug, aj, and myself played some simpson's monopoly. only lasted 2 hours, and was a pretty good game. aj (being jewish) was the banker and was very fair. amanda started with very few properties, but ended up winning cos she's a whore. yes, that's why she won.
i've got my first public appearance on guitar wednesday night at the Erickson Unplugged. anyone in the quad city area should come. it's from 7-9 in erickson hall. should be good stuff.
and on that note, i'm gonna leave work 20 minutes early after getting here 15 minutes late.

So this weekend was fun. really fun. more fun than i expected it to be. Friday night, I was gonna go the the fashion show on campus to hoot and holler and yell the word "foxy" alot. But circumstances prevented that. So molly, mark, and kaylee came over and we just chilled and had a good night. listened to beck, played mariokart (kaylee, i'm impressed with your MKing, mark and molly...you need work).
Saturday i woke up early, went to p-co and worked out. it felt pretty good. got back and went and played tennis with kaylee for and hour and a half.
A) i really like tennis
2) it was good to be outside, i think i got some sun on my white bod
iii) kaylee is much better at tennis than i
when i got back from that around 1:30, Doug was just getting up...lazy bastard. I played some video games, played some guitar, and just enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. We had some people over saturday night, good times. alot of new faces, and i liked them all (except one, but i don't think she'll ever be back...and if she does, i'm gonna hit her in the face with our toilet bowl cleaner.) beer pong is an amazing game, so much fun!
Dano reads about string-theory....who does that?
little yonk decided it would be a good idea to fill the hookah with vodka and smoke some strawberry tobacco out of it. it was a good idea. making a hookah with a two=foot hose is a bad idea. cos then AJ and Dawn pull on the hose and spill burning coals all over your floor. but i'm not pointing fingers, just burning them.
so now we have about 15 holes burned in our living room carpet, but it's ok, cos we go to college and have thunked up a plizan. we've systematically shaved off pieces of carpet from discrete locals around the apartment and are preceeding to superglue them into the holes. you'd be amazed at how well this works. really, you would.
sunday was laaaaaazy. woke up relatively early, cleaned up the place pretty well (if either of you other two room mates are reading this, CLEAN FOR ONCE IN YOUR MISERABLE EXISTANCES!!!!) i think i played videogames and did laundry then. went to java, got a decent amount of homework done, then went home and had a hot pocket for dinner.
amanda and i went on a walk, saw some ducks, a chelsea, a racoon, and some big goldfish. then we nerded it up and watched LOTR :fellowship. hot damn that is a good movie.
i've got class in about 10 minutes, so i bid you farewell.

what if air was purple? instead of being clear. then all you would see is purple, unless you literally had the object in your eye. I guess if it were sort of a translucent purple, it could still work, but even then... i dunno, it would be like wearing those classes with blue lenses or something. or like a constant thick purple fog. it's a good thing that it isn't, cos then driving, or even walking, could be really dangerous.

I've assumed my normal position here in java, back to the corner, facing out into the room, glancing up at ever sense of motion. That's how I like it, I need distractions to concentrate (and writing this update is just another distraction)
Note: a remake of Elton John's Rocket Man, done by Boy Sets Fire just came on...mmm yea
This morning in bio lab we carried out an experiment designed by my group. We decided to see if ants would stay inside a circle of chalk drawn on paper. Statistically, it seemed they did, but i'm pretty sure it was a fluke. I walked into the lab and the instructor had two little tubs of ants sitting out for us to use. Now, one would assume she would have gotten regualr little black ants. but no, they were North Carolina fire ants. Yea, what the hell. there was a big note attached to the tubs "They Bite!!!" every time we counted 9 when there was supposed to be ten, i started feeling things crawling all over me. you could actually see the mandibles on these things. ugh.
I've spent about 6 hours in the past two days working on this paper for my religion class. It's driving me crazy, but i guess i brought it upon myself, as i did choose the topic. I'm seeking to provide arguments for both side of the question "Does someone believe in God because He exists, or does He exist to him/her because he/she believes in Him?" I say 'both' sides of the argument, but I'm pretty sure there are multiple sides.
I had GrapeNuts for breakfast, but that was 3 hours ago and i'm already really hungry. HUNGRY!!! i'll get some fruit before bio lecture.
there is a cute girl wandering around here handing out surveys, prolly for a psych class or something, but i think she was avoiding me cos i had my headphones in (or cos i'm ridiculously attractive) but either way, i removed my headphones. she's gone now, which proves that it must have been the latter.
headphones back in
last night, Dawn and Yonk and myself went out to the district to relax after a stressful day. well, dawn was already 'relaxed' when we picked her up. we headed out to Blue Cat, had a beer, played a few games of pool. Dawn wanted to go somewhere where she could dance, so we headed to O'Mally's. Man o man do the townies come out on a wednesday night. Surrounded my people with missing teeth, gold teeth, shark teeth (i lied about that last one). 30-somethings gettin freaky on the dance floor. Dawn went out to dance, putting Yonk and me in charge of protection: if any creepy guy started to 'get all up in her grill' we were to step in and play the fake boyfriend roll. That is the only reason i ended up on the dance floor...to protect dawn...only reason...and because rhythm surges through my soul and i am a born dancer!!!!
twas a good time

I've had a very productive day thus far. Woke up at 9, showered, went and met with my advisor (and again tomorrow to finalize my classes for winter next year. it's pretty sweet cos i get first pick since i'll be in europe in the fall). Went to java like usual and got to chunks of my biology portfolio done, then bio class (of which i only stayed for half) then off to the DMV to get my new 21 license (which i look pretty sexy in).
It's been pretty nice being 21, no more acting like i was just buying orange juice when i go in the steve or yonk. plus i think it's turned me into more of a casual drinker. I'll just have a beer with dinner or something.
On a sorta similar note, I took my drug test for motorola this summer yesterday. sucks that i had to drive 45 minutes out to Muscatine, IA, to find the stupid place. But I got a really tasty sandwich from walmart on the way back cos i was really hungry but couldn't find any food places.
Tennis class starts tomorrow, well technically it started on monday, but we didn't play. You have to provide your own racquet (i know, what a cheap ass school) so i went to walmart and bought one for $18. i'm pretty sure that's a really cheap tennis racquet, but it's made by wilson, so it can't be too bad. oh well.
I'm hungry, gonna go eat.

It's just a fact. I'm eating progresso chicken and rice right now, and it just doesn't measure up. my theory is that it all has to do with salt content.
so today, Dave turns 22. crazy. i just turned 21! how'd he get so much older than me?!?! at least we all still have the mental capacity of a 4 year-old. but that's how i like it.
i discovered yesterday that i can eat $2 meal deals at different places around here monday, tuesday, and wednesday nights (although i can't help but order a beer and thus end up paying more) and i'm sure if i look harder i could find ones for thursday and friday.
so i've finally finished all my work for this week. I thought i'd be going till about 2:30 tomorrow, but turns out i'm fairly efficient in Java when no one is there to talk to me. in the past three days, i've spent a collective 22 hours in Java. yea, that's right. It's included typing a 7 page paper, a 5 page lab report, reading a bunch of stuff for Theology, and computer science homework. But ya know what? i like feeling accomplished.
it's not even noon yet, so i really haven't done much else. we'll see what later brings.
bros up hoes down
