cat's are geniuses

Posted: 2004-05-24 19:02:00

I just learned a life lesson from my cat, snickers. Ever since i have been home from school, she hasn’t been too fond of me, which makes me really sad. All i want to do is cuddle, all she wants to do is run away. I had her cornered under the kitchen table. Her back was turned so she didn’t see me. I got so close, but then she ran away, leaving me lunging for her and smacking my head on the table. I have a big welt (not so much a lump though). Then during dinner, i felt a nuzzle on my leg. Stupid cat was being all affectionate. I hope you all see what i’m getting at here. The pursued run, the left-alone nuzzle your leg. I love that cat. Once again, I’ll actually update later.

You should make a melon helmet for snickers.

Someone please come take me!! I don’t want to start work in the real world tomorrow. I’ll even drive to you if that’s easier. i have to wear nice shoes...i don’t like nice shoes, they aren’t comfy. I have to wear collared shirts...i guess i don’t mind that. Kyle played me the new Rx Bandits album today, and now i have it with me to burn because it is amazing. AMAZING!!!! As if ‘Progress’ wasn’t a good enough album, they had to go and outdo themselves, crazy bastards. Something tells me that will be in my car for a good while. i got my haircut today, kinda short, but i don’t think it looks too bad. I wish i had done more with my day...but i didn’t. I fixed some computer stuff for my mom. Discovered my new phone is smarter than me, and played poker at gorman’s (made $30 hahaha, laughing all the way to the bank) Wish there was a way to teleport people. I’d be doing a lot of that. G’night all, i need my rest for the petrifying day ahead.

as i approached my garage door this evening, plastic bag with wet boxers in hand, i found myself drawing out m wallet to wave in front of the keypad. Augie people will understand this, and just how pathetic it is. about those boxers, we went in katie’s hot tub. I look like a rockstar with my pants hung low and no boxers on...and i got that sexy V thing goin on. But enough about me.i could have sworn i had more for this update. oh yea, Circle Gets the Square, the incarnation of Miss April (minus dan, plus Chris) had their first practice today. I think this is gonna be the beginning of a beautiful bandship. Look for us when we’re big, we won’t forget the little people (that’s you ;) )

The plans for my night started with maybe going to see a movie with jeff, but then a phone call that changed my life. It was Dave, asking if i would like to join him, mary, katrina, kylie, and jim to go see Thrice, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Get Up Kids. I almost turned them down cos it was $30, but katrina said if i drove she’d give it to me for $25, so i agreed. It was at the Allstate arena, not the best place for a show like that, but they cleared out the floor. MCS was pretty good, we actually didn’t even know they were playing till they came out on stage, but i didn’t know enough of their stuff to fully rock out. They did have quite the stage presence. The keyboardist did a few handstands on his keyboard stand...hardcore. TGUK played some good old ones off “On a Wire” and “Something to Write Home About” but also some new stuff i didn’t know. Not too energetic on stage, but that was ok. Thrice was AMAZING...but really could they be anything but? I can now say i have seen Thrice thrice, which is a lot better than twice. Kylie didn’t understand that thrice was actually a word for three times. silly girl. Teppi is easily the best guitarist playing right now in any sort of hardcore band. His licks blow my mind, fingers like the devil i tell ya. Now, let me explain something...the headliner for this show was actually Dashboard Confessional. Now i don’t want to sound pompous or too punk here, but i just really had no desire to see them. I was there to see Thrice. Unfortunately, a whole flock of 15-year-old girls were there just for Chris and his tear worthy songs. These girls do not belong at a Thrice show, and either do their pussy ass boyfriends. Any one who knows me knows im not a big guy, a violent guy, or really that intimidating, but those of you who have been to a show with me know that im a force to reckon with in the pit. These kids didn’t know what hit them. I thrashed like a dog avoiding a trip to the vet (which is a lot, trust me) and was delighted to hear people saying “ugh, i don’t want to be by him” or “what the hell is he doing” These kids had no clue what a Thrice show should be like. This is the first time i’ve seen them and not left bleeding. All i have to show for my rocking is a small bruise on my right arm. Here’s the worst part, when a pit would form, these kids didn’t know what to do. If someone went down, no one stopped to get them back up. You CAN”T do that. The second someone goes down in a pit, you clear out around them and get them on their feet. So that made me unhappy. So did the huge ass guy in the white polo shirt who seemed to think i had it in for him and kept throwing elbows...some people. Moral of the story: it was an awesome show under the circumstances. We left before dashboard played and went to Around The Clock for an hour or so. I drank waaaayyy too much coffee and am hella awake right now. I wish i could sleep cos the rain is perfect on the roof tonight. the rain was also perfect for forcing me into O’Hare and then clovering it up around 190 and mannheim, damn rain blocking out my view of the signs. “Don’t we all bleed red blood?” ~Thrice
